How to Reply to Google Reviews in Goodreviews

Reply to your Google reviews directly from your Goodreviews account — no switching tabs, logging into Google, or digging through your inbox. Everything you need is now in one central inbox.

This guide walks you through how the feature works, how to use it effectively, and how to manage your review workflow more efficiently.

🔍 What is the Review Inbox?

The Review Inbox is your central hub inside Goodreviews where you can:

  • See all Google reviews across all your connected business locations

  • Reply directly to any review

  • Filter reviews by location, rating, date, or response status

  • Dismiss reviews that don’t need a reply

  • Restore reviews if you change your mind

You’ll find the Review Inbox in your main navigation, or by clicking here.

💬 How to Reply to a Review

  1. Log in to your Goodreviews dashboard

  2. Navigate to the Review Inbox

  3. Under the Needs Response tab, find the review you want to reply to

  4. Click the Reply button

  5. Type your response and click Save

Once saved, your reply is published directly to your Google Business Profile. The card will update to show your reply.

✨ You can edit your reply at any time by clicking Edit Reply in the All Reviews tab.

🗂 Tabs Explained

Your Review Inbox is organised into three tabs:

1. Needs Response

Shows all reviews without a reply. This is your to-do list.

2. All Reviews

Shows every review — including those already replied to or dismissed. You can reply or edit replies here.

3. Dismissed

Contains reviews you’ve dismissed (e.g. test reviews, spam, or feedback you’ve already addressed elsewhere). You can restore any dismissed review if you want to take action on it later.

🛠 Using Dismiss and Restore

Sometimes you’ll get reviews that don’t require a response — and that’s fine.

You can Dismiss these reviews to keep your Needs Response tab clean.

  • Click Dismiss under the review

  • The review is moved to the Dismissed tab

  • You’ll see a snackbar notification with the option to Undo

If you change your mind, go to the Dismissed tab and click Restore. The review will:

  • Move back to Needs Response if no reply has been posted

  • Move to All Reviews if it already has a reply

🛈 Dismiss does not delete the review. It simply hides it from your active queue.

🔎 Filters & Sorting

Use filters in the top-right corner to customise your view:

  • Location filter – view reviews by Google Business location

  • Sort by – sort by most recent, oldest, highest rating, or lowest rating

This helps you prioritise reviews that need attention, especially across multiple storefronts.

🚀 Why Replying to Reviews Matters

Replying to reviews isn’t just polite — it’s powerful:

  • 91% of shoppers read reviews before making a purchase

  • Google considers review replies when ranking your business in local search

  • Public responses show customers you care — it builds trust before they even click through to your website

Whether the review is glowing or critical, a reply tells potential customers you’re present, responsive, and trustworthy.
