SMS Credits: How to Top Up, and What Happens When You Run Out
SMS credits power your ability to send review invitations via text through Goodreviews. Here’s how they work and what to do if you’re running low or hit zero.
How SMS Credits Work
Your SMS credit allowance is tied to your plan:
Plan | Monthly SMS Credits |
---|---|
Essentials | 45 SMS credits |
Growth | 100 SMS credits |
Scale | 300 SMS credits |
Credits refresh automatically at the start of each billing cycle. If you don't use them all, they do not roll over into the next month.
📩 What Happens When You Run Low or Run Out?
We’ve built in two key checkpoints to help you stay on top of your balance:
10% remaining: You’ll receive an email and an in-app notification prompting you to upgrade your plan or top up.
0 credits: You’ll receive another notification and email letting you know SMS review requests are now paused.
You will not lose review requests when credits hit 0. They will simply be held in your Pending Reviews queue until you take action (see below).
💳 Topping Up Without Changing Plans
You can now purchase top-up credits without upgrading your plan. Available packs:
Credit Pack | Cost (AUD) |
---|---|
10 credits | $5 |
25 credits | $10 |
60 credits | $20 |
160 credits | $50 |
Top-up credits are added instantly to your account and can be used immediately. These credits do not expire and are used only after your monthly credits run out.
You’ll find this under:
Dashboard > Settings > Plan & Billing > Buy Credits
🔼 Upgrading Your Plan Resets SMS Credits
When you upgrade your plan, your credits reset immediately based on the new plan’s allocation—and you keep any credits you've already used.
Example:
If you're on Essentials (45 SMS) and you use them all, then upgrade to Growth (100 SMS), you’ll instantly receive 100 fresh SMS credits — giving you 145 total credits used that month.
Billing is prorated, so you’ll only pay the difference for the rest of your billing cycle.
📥 Where Can I Check My Credits?
You can always see your current SMS balance on the bottom left of your dashboard or under Settings > Plan & Billing.
